Pigmented Lesion Removal
Pigmented lesion removal at Market Street Medical is a popular aesthetic treatment for removing brown spots or age spots. Pigmented lesions are an extremely common skin blemish caused by excess melanin in the skin and result from aging or excessive sun exposure. Pigmented lesions develop on all body parts but are most common in areas easily exposed to the sun, such as the face, neck, and hands. While most pigmented lesions are benign, some can be early indications of skin cancer. Market Street Medical recommends that clients see a professional dermatologist or physician before seeking laser treatment.
How does pigmented lesion removal work?
Our Astanza Duality laser emits light energy onto the unwanted pigmented lesion during a laser treatment. The excess melanocyte cells absorb the light energy and shatter. After treatment, your immune system flushes away the dead skin cells and reveals clear unblemished skin.
A scab may begin to form in the treatment area weeks following treatment. Your skin will appear lighter and less pigmented once the scab heals and flakes off naturally. Please do not interfere with the scab’s healing process for the best results. Picking the scab can lead to infection and unwanted side effects.
How many treatments will I need?
Most clients see significant fading and complete removal after 1 to 2 treatments.
Does the laser hurt?
The treatment is very tolerable and quick. Most clients compare the laser to a rubber band snapping against the skin.
Vascular Lesion Removal
Vascular lesion removal at Market Street Medical is a non-invasive laser treatment that removes unsightly lesions, like spider veins, rosacea, varicose veins, port wine stains, and more. While vascular lesions are not harmful, many people dismiss them for cosmetic reasons. Vascular lesions are widespread and varied and commonly appear on the face and legs. Vascular lesions result from numerous factors, including aging, activity levels, genetics, and hormones.
How does vascular lesion removal work?
Our Astanza Duality emits a light beam into the skin absorbed by the hemoglobin in your blood during a laser treatment. The absorption of light energy warms the blood significantly, leading to the inflammation of the vessel’s inner wall and the occlusion or collapse of the vessel.
In the weeks following treatment, a small bruise will form. As the bruise heals, the vessel will fade and disappear. Vascular lesions do not develop again once they are treated. Staying active and protecting your skin from sun exposure can prevent additional lesions from forming.
How many treatments will I need?
Most clients need 2 to 3 treatments before seeing complete removal, but most see significant results after a single treatment. The number of treatments will rely on the severity and size of the treated vessel.
Does the laser hurt?
Most clients will feel a warm sensation at most. Overall, the laser procedure is very tolerable.
